I love the video reviews buddy, I don't just love them. Saying that I also loved the Silver Age of comic books! Spidey is awesome no matter what age I am regardless!
Yes Silver Age of comics is great! For marvel it was awesome storys and characters and realistic problems for them to solve. For DC it was the same old heroes but doing crazy stuff that is just plain weird! Spide-Man in comic form in the 60's was more sofisticated then most TV shows of the 60's! And they're some of the best comics ever! I read the reprints a lot! Superman in the 60's was weird and silly and I love to laugh and read the reprints! The Spider-Man TV show is more like the Superman comic than the Spider-Man comic!
I don't know man, from 0:16 to 0:29 you gave all the reasons why that show is incredibly awesome. The flying cowboy only made things better. Sure they use the same footage a lot, but who am i to judge the guy that drew it? He was probably lazy and had to draw em by hand. Frame per frame. That sucks and it's annoying, unless he had some slaves that did his work for 6 cents an hour.
Why yes, I also find it odd that a show about a kid who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and then, as a result, becomes spider-like would have weird story lines.
@Hasidic Plumber Although the things I mention sound good they can't compare to episodes with Dr. Octopus, the Vulture, the Scorpion, the Sandman and other traditional villians that Spider-Man can get a in good fight with a well designed villian (ie one designed by Spider-Man co creator and comic artist Steve Ditko!)
@Francis Caron I agree! Things are fun when they don't have to be "senseble"!
@D4 Naa! Like I said to Hasidic Plumber, the Spider-Man episodes where he fights more traditional villians is the best!
@heddin I totally get where your coming from! Its one thing when someone gets super powers but its something else when little green men living in the center of the earth charge a giant blue monsters with little spears that would have no effect or tiny aliens travel through the galaxy to save earth from some deamon gods who plans on destroying all or Manhattan gets up and flys away!
Silver age of Comics=Fucking strange as hell. Great video

I missed this incarnation of animated Spiderman. I thought the 90s one was best.

Ah WOW! :) That's a great review! I liked in the 60's where they didn't really mind if things made sense or not!
ReplyDeleteGreat vids by the way!
Ya know, it coulda been a lot worse had the monsters an evil doers not been as weird. So it had that going for it at least, right?
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, I also find it odd that a show about a kid who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and then, as a result, becomes spider-like would have weird story lines.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the sense!
I subscribed, liked and Favorited. Great video. You have a mighty beard.

ReplyDeleteWhen you're posting them, can you make the embed size a little bigger so I don't have to click through to youtube? If not that's cool too.
Spidey is the best :D
ReplyDeleteexcellent review man, very funny and I like your enthusiasm!
ReplyDeleteThat show is excellent.
ReplyDeleteShort review, but loved it nevertheless. I grew up with the nineties cartoon, which was also plagued with flaws, albeit slightly different ones.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't much you can say about a flying cowboy on an electronic horse.
i just love how it turned out to be one of the most amusing things to watch, for the wrong reasons of course
ReplyDeleteI wish I was a flying cowboy on an electric horse. That show was weird, and not necessarily in a good way. WHAT THE HELL WAS HIS WEB STICKING TO?!?
