Leave it to Beaver

The fifties where full of wholesome good TV shows full of fun family values!

In this show we meet the Cleavers! They're a fun caring family who's last name is Cleaver and they named their second born son Beaver.

The show is so wholesome!

The Cleavers: Named after a tool you can use to kill people, butcher people! And their kid (Beaver) named after a sex organ.

It's so wholesome!

Excellent! Fun for the whole family!

So anyway, you gotta love how the writers would sneak in weird violent/sexual subliminal messages into the show! Corrupt the kids of America subliminally! Ha ha ha!

  2. Why oh why would you even considering calling your son Beaver? I mean I get that they're called the Cleavers so it rhymes and it's funny and charming when he's a child but being stuck with that name must have been horrible for him. I love the premise of wholesome classic shows like this even though they're obviously severely outdated nowadays. Nice post as usual buddy.

  3. I would love it if that is what the writers had in mind when they made this show. But yes Beaver Cleaver sounds ever so ever so wrong. Would make it pretty hard to pick up chicks too.

  10. They probably held orgies or something like that. The little kid probably grew up to be a super douche and the mother was an alcoholic who would sleep with the cameramen.

  17. Heard the name before, I don't really know why though. It seems like a pretty wholesome, generic fifties show. Guess I didn't pick up on the innuendos!

  19. What about the blatant sexism? I'm pretty sure there was a lot of sexism in the show too.

  20. I briefly saw the made-for-TV movie featuring the Beaver as an adult. He made for an ugly adult. LOL.

  24. I used to LOOOOVE that show when I was little!! Of course at that age I thought that there were actually real life families like the Cleavers, and that if I was well-behaved enough, I might get adopted by one....
