ReplyDeleteYes! This is the perfect Blogger Christmas present! I kind of wish I could watch this on drugs actually, the cartoon that is, it seems like a good experience. This stuff definitely is no Toy Story, that's for sure. I love how Santa takes AGES to give the kids these presents.
ReplyDeleteThat last cartoon is actually extremely dark, almost like it was written by somebody who isn't human themselves just in relation to their obvious disdain for the human race in general. I hate how they don't show the good side to humanity in the slightest, it's ridiculous. The hooker in a cocaine fueled rage was amazing, God, I laughed so damn much, it's ridiculous religion has caused more wars than anything else haha.
I love the art as well, with lasers on top of them it'd be perfect for Timothy's album artwork, have a great Christmas Bersecules!
The animators were just kids that couldnt fill in between the lines.

It actually shocked me when I first watched it! I was not expecting that! Glad you liked the cocaine fueled rage bit! But then who doesn't like to hear a dead hooker story?! It is ridiculous that religion has given so much to fight over and they focus on vegitarians fighting meateaters! Its like there making a mockery of there own point! I'm glad you like the art! I hope it suits Timothy Bowens album!

ReplyDeleteHooray "The Beserc Herc" is back, now with fist pumping action. I like the idea Santa is a mutant like the X-Men, maybe his skin is naturally red like Beast's is blue, or it's a side effect of his Santa super powers like the human torch. Or maybe he is just very shitfaced. The second one was very, very bleak and grim. Even as a religious person I think religion is more likely to cause the end of man than PETA. Though I wouldn't put it past them. I also think you were rocking that Santa suit, and the dance at the end. And as a final note, love the separate but still slightly related to the second cartoon actually comic at the end there.

@Mark I didn't think of that! Red face could be a side effect of his powers! Maybe he gets red faced as he uses his epic poweres!... or he's drunk. I was liking the cartoon till it got to the religious message and I realised they haddent added it into the list of things people fight over. I think its a good message but the way they did it makes them seem either ignorant or hipocrites! The danceing does seem to be well received! Glad to know so many enjoy laughing at silly dances! Glad you liked the cartoon too!

The first cartoon is a classic piece of animation from the UK. The animator is Harold Whitaker and the highly stylized fashion is a trademark. I love it. Have you seen I Am Weasle? It's a toon done in the States and is in part an homage to Whitaker. Check out the Red Guy in that toon, you'll see they got it from this red Santa. (I'm a huge toon fan).
