Gilligan's Island video review

Here's another video review I hope you enjoy!

You know what to do!

  1. My head exploded at the end there. I think I've heard that before though. Searching your archives has revealed that you have indeed talked about this show before. That line still gets to me though, that we're all on Gilligan's Island...

  2. Oh and you don't have to publish this one, but I got a badass idea. You wanted a short video of me for our video project, and you want to ask me questions, so just write some up, and we can work on a short video interview. You record yourself asking the questions, I record myself answering them. Just try not to make the questions fit together or the editing will look...well, not so good.

  3. Oh yeah nice, I've enjoyed it!

  4. I loved this man, your videos are all class. I remember reading your review of Gilligan's Island and finding it great, this is excellent as well.

  5. That show is a classic! I used to watch it all the time!

    And yes...we all DO live on a Gilligan's Island...metaphorically speaking!

  6. one of the best shows of all time.

  7. Nostalgia mode: on.

  8. Stop the presses, new HERC! Too bad it's only a minute long :[

    Thanks though, keep it up.

  9. hahaha now doesn't the whole complexity of that show make Lost look so corny..haha

  10. I grew up in Ireland and didn't know about this until I married an American. He said all the guys used to argue about who was the prettiest girl, Ginger or Mary Anne. He liked Mary Anne. I've seen these in reruns and love it. I'm a fan of cheezy stuff and a fan of B movies, so it clicked for me despite the cultural differences. I'm off to Youtube now. Cheers

  11. I only watched this show a handful of times growing up, it was ok... but your review makes it seem way more interesting! :) I bet they could have used some pussy cocaine on the island though. :P

  12. @Mark Yup I did the review before but I loved the last line so much I did a video review of it! And as a point of interest, that was the last time I'll be doing a video review of a TV show I already did a written review of!

    @Mark I posted it anyway. Sounds like a good idea! I'll right questions you record your responces I'll right back if I'll comment on your responce you record that send it to me and I'll "animate" your person and edit it all together! I'll think of questions to day as I go get my haircut.

    @R Great! Glad you enjoyed it!

    @YeamieWaffles Thanks for your good words! They mean alot to me!

    @danjour21 I totally agree with what you said!

    @Bart Your totally correct! Its fun no matter your mood!

    @Kid Shuffle Glad I could open your eyes!

    @My 2 Pesos Ditto!

    @Sub-Radar-Mike There will be some longer ones comming out soon! (one on Thursday then another next week at this time!)

    @Pat Hatt Yes your totally right! Gilligan's Island also makes more sense in many ways!

    @Anne I heard it was broadcast most places in the world so I'm supprised you never knew of it! Lots of people argue over Ginger or MaryAnne but I've always gone for Mrs. Howell. I love B movies! Especially old black and white ones! (I review old black and white ones on my other YouTube channel!)

    @Dustee I think they where crazy enough without Pissy Cocaine but it would have made for a great episode!

  13. I'm looking forward to longer videos too but I really just came here to say DON'T LOSE THE BEARD. You can't lose the beard anyway, it's still Movember.

  14. Good review of a good show. (:

  15. Yep. The professor could make a microwave out of a coconut, but he couldn't make a two-way radio. Or fix the frikkin' Minnow.
    Nobody asked me, but....
    Mary Ann.
    Oh, yeah.

  16. Nice review I will be following.

  17. I actually liked the cartoon show and the TBS Gilligan gets off the island movies. Everything the Bob Denver touched was an instant classic.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The show needed a lovable yet misunderstood foreigner, and a better female sex symbol...

    ReplyDelete
  19. That was amazingly well thought out considering the subject matter. a3

    ReplyDelete
  20. I watched MacHale's Navy and Gomer Pyle instead.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I loved reruns of gilligans island when I was a kid

  22. @Mark I follow no rules. You wont see videos with out the beard in November but my face has been naked for a week.

    I get hair cuts 2 or 3 times a year and shave 3 or 4 times a year. The beard as you'll see in the up coming three videos is the longest I've ever had it.

    But if you want for our video I can dub my voice over footage of me with a beard!

    @Interwebs Fails Thanks!

    @Al Penwasser I think the Professer just didn't want to leave the island! (he is the only eligable man on an island with two hot girls!)

    @Jupitertree Sounds good! Thanks!

    @Lizardmannnn You lost me there...

    @Copyboy I never saw the cartoons but I did like the TV movies!

    @Heaven. Ditto!

    @Bones and some female wrestlers and some female strippers and really lots of things could be added to the show!

    @after3 I'm deep...

    @Henry I've always wanted to watch those shows but they were never played on TV in my area! Internet here I come!

    @aamedor Me too!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I just want to womp Gilligan with my hat.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Not the beard! :( How fast does it grow? I can't grow one at all, I can go months without shaving and just have, well not much.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Generally Disgruntled I can understand why!

    @Mark If you wanna see my beard grouth watch my video for Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad it is from late August and my Battletoads video is from late september my Thundarr the Barbarian review from early October and DinoRiders is from late October (the others where all filmed around the time of Thundarr) and if you watch the four videos you'll see how fast my beard grows!

    Keep in mind you don't know how long it got! The three reviews I've done since then haven't come out yet! (One will on Thursday and that will be how big my beard was in mid November)

    The mustash got in the way of me eating and I don't like to trim it so I got rid of it. My girlfriend likes the beard too but I like clean shaven. I grow the beard cause it means I don't have to shave everyday. (my brissly hair hurts my girlfriend when I kiss her so I either shave everyday or not at all!)

  26. Dude.. this is actually depressing in a way.

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Rachel Neilson You're right!

    @D4 Depressing in the same way most true things are.

    ReplyDelete
  28. that was deep, ill never look at gilligan's island the same haha

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Electric Addict I'm glad it got you thinking!

  30. Just commented and watched as usual.

    Oh, I'm not sure if this works but did you try going to the settings on the side and then going to the "stop following" option?

    I wasn't even aware you could only follow 300 blogs at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  31. is the microcosm thing an astute observation you made, or did they ever publicly say that it was intentional?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Once again, a review of an old show I've never heard about. Although your comment of Earth reminds me of a Farside comic, where god puts Jerks on Earth saying "Just to make it more interesting..."

    ReplyDelete
  33. Did they ever escape the island in the end of the series?

    ReplyDelete
  34. This video is excellent. Always been a fan of your blog posts and you keep posting excellent content! Keep up the great work! Followed!

    ReplyDelete
  35. nice review my friend, i follow

    ReplyDelete
  36. It was a touch short, but a good overview. You should dig more into the themes as they played out in some of the episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @DWei Thanks for watching! And thanks for answering the question I asked on your blog! But the stop following option isn't there on blogs that are already closed! They still count against you but are gone so you can't unfollow! Blogger is a really crazy place! Yup although I only have 173 followers I was following 300 blogs and hit the celling! So beware!

    @Shaw The microcosm thing is said in the TV movie "The Longest Three Hour Tour in History" Where cast menbers and the creater talk of there experiences with the show as acters play them in the past! And one of the sceens is Sherwood Shwarts (the creater of the show) trying to tell the TV executives that the show is suppose to be a microcosm of the real world. He doesn't spell it out like I did or come to the same conclution, but he does call it a microcosm. But from highshcool I learnt to look at lots of books and movies and TV shows in this way! Lots of things use the method of each charater representing an aspect of society!

    @j. littlejohn I concur!

    @R.gers You never heard of Gilligan's Island? Wow! I love the Farside but never saw that one before!

    @JDC The show was cancelled abruptly so they never got off the island in the TV show but a decade or so later they made some TV movies about them! The first one they get off the island hate it go for a sail and crash on the same island. The others they end up opening a resort on the island.

    @Jason Thanks for the kind words! I will keep up the work!

    @2Peeeps Health and Fitness Thanks! And I will follow back!

    @convictus Thats a good idea! I may do that sometime!

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Natural One I remember when one channel would play two episodes a day and another channel would do the same but the next hour so you could watch four hours of the show in a day!

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Bersercules I think you mean two hours of the show with four episodes not four hours.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Bersercules Thanks for pointing that out.

    ReplyDelete
  41. This sounds a lot better than Lost.

    Also, I'm starting to miss your 15 minute reviews because it just gets shorter and shorter.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't think I explained myself well enough. :P Go to the Dashboard on blogger and click Manage. From there you should see a list of all the blogs you're following. Click settings on the right side and then click the "Stop following" option.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lmfao I love this show and have all the episodes. Awesome take on this, loved your view. Good stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Lord Phrozen It is better than Lost! Don't worry I have a long one comming up soon, but yeah I haven't done a long one in a while cause they are so time consuming!

    @DWei Right I forgot to say, I can't use my manage section. When I click on it it brings me to a page that has a weird code and tells me I can't use the page. I when to the help section and there where other people with the same problem. Have you accessed your manage section resently?

    @kwile Thanks for your kind words! The show is definitely a good show! I too have all the episodes and the first TV movie!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Why would you want to watch a show about your life? Loved your review though I've heard they are making a remake of this. But I could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @To Tipota I would wanna watch a show about my life cause I'm an egotistical bastard! A remake of this could be quite interseting! I hope you're right!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Really?!

  48. I've never seen one episode. I don't know if that makes me proud or sad.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @R.gers Sweet! Thanks for the link! Its definitely a funny one! (but then again all Farside cartoons are funny!)

    @Banacek Be both!

  50. That review was not good for Gilligan's self esteem.

  51. @Jimmy Fungus For our sake lets hope he never sees it!
