Who said the scripture and superheros don't mix?

Is the love of Jesus not enough? Is God watching out for you not enough? Don't worry! If you can't handle just two people looking out for you there's a third! Bibleman!

That's right! a Bible themed superhero! Cause why not!

Wow what a great costume design! It just screams biblical! (Jesus wore purple and yellow right?... and a flowing cape?)

He's the hero for our age! The hero our world needs! He fights evil, helps people and quotes the scripture! (What action packed adventures he must have!)

The shows (though they're not actually TV shows but a series of show you could buy on tape... and yes I have a bunch of them on tape!)

See I have a whole bunch!... why am I bragging about this?

The show would usually start off as a group of kids met hardship through one thing or another (like a kid constantly lying or having doubt, you know, things only a superhero can help you with!) and Bibleman would step in and help them fight off the evil (oh yeah, cause all those evils like "lying" and "doubt" they're actually people who can be fought and not problems in your head you must deal with!)

And Bibleman fights off these villains with his Sword of the Spirit!

that looks like a lightsaber from Star Wars... so this show rips off Star Wars too?

Gee whats next, Biblewoman in a golden bikini and tied up and at the mercy of Jaba the Glutton!

(Since Biblewoman and the Glutton don't exist I drew a picture of it!)

And what are the villains that make up Bibleman's rouge gallery?

The Fibbler (makes kids lie... Holy Cow! That's quite the villain! This guy puts Hitler to shame!)

The Shadow of Doubt (makes kids doubt the bible and think critically... the bastard!)

Master of Misery (blasts people with his anti joy device... that just sounds dirty.)

El Furioso (he makes people mad with his Gold Furry Dust, these lame villains make me mad!)

Dr. Fear (he oddly enough makes people afraid... I didn't see that coming!)

And Bibleman can often be seen talking to little kids alone in the park... don't worry, hes not like a priest or anything, so he wont molest them... I hope.

And since I love watching this show and thinking all about it! This week at The Berserk Herc is Bibleman week! And I will be posting written reviews about this show all week long! As I review my way through as many of the tapes I have on the show as I want!

  1. Yes! I love Bersecules written reviews just as much as the videos, I'm excited now! Haha, Bibleman sounds like one of the lamest superheroes of all time regardless of if you believe in Christianity or not, I'm not sure how you came across this whole thing and got the tapes but I'm glad you did. The Fibbler and the Shadow of Doubt sound like the worst villains of all time haha, I mean it's not that bad to tell lies, like you said he really does put Hitler to shame lmao! Awesome stuff buddy.

  3. The Fibbler made me crack up! As if Bible Man wasn't enough, someone had to come up with The Fibbler? hahaha I can't wait to read all the posts during "Bibleman Week". lol

  4. For some reason I like the Master of Misery, biblewoman has potential....

  5. Oh Willie Aames, from Charles in Charles to this. Yes, I remember this show. I remember it too well. I can't wait to see the reviews.

  6. I'm kinda disappointed to see that he doesn't use a cross to finish off his enemies or use the bible to clobber his foes.

  7. a whole week dedicated to Bibleman?
I am going to be expecting many many laughs and a lot of cringe moments!

It will be like a priest hitting on a 5 year old. Wait.... that doesn't happen in the show does it? Did I need to give spoiler warnings?

  8. I don't know why but I want to watch it. For the little guy, please do at least one video review if you can. I want to see clips of this.

  9. Somewhere out there is the money to produce a Bibleman series yet my idea for a city wide scavenger hunt that would lead participants on a mystical adventure that would expand their understanding of the world while offering marketers unrivaled product placement opporunities remains unfulfilled.

  10. I'm going out on a limb here, but I think Bible Woman would be wearing a lot more than that. Also, Bibleman for sure looks like he's puttin the moves on that little girl.

  11. I wanna see if they could turn THAT into a movie.

  12. Jesus Christ, this is clearly the work of Protestants. Okay so our priests molest boys, but we don't make a feckin' cartoon of it! You put up one of your drawings! Love the cigar in Jaba the Gluttons hand. And now we know your real name (let the stalking begin). I like El Furioso, him I've gotta see. And if they have him eating a burrito, I'm going to send them hate mail.

  13. I also wanted to say I'd love you to be my featured blog on my first ever Feature/Focus/Follow Them/Anything Related That Begins With F Friday, would you mind Herc? Would there even be a point considering anyone who follows me probably follows you anyway haha?

  14. I am buying that entire series for my father.

  15. LOL The Fibber, now that is a bad guy I would tremble in front of. His name is just so scary. I don't know if I'd brag about having that many tapes either, but then since you have so many bibleman will never be far away. helping you thwart your troubled mind one star wars rip off reference at a time.

  16. I actually heard of Bibleman before, sounds like a trip

  17. I didn't know you could draw! You are a man of many talents, my dear Herc.

Also, I love these written reviews just as much as the video ones, because I've watched so many of your video reviews that I can hear your voice narrating all the text in my head perfectly!

  18. This sounds pretty ridiculous.. I'm looking forward to it!

  19. ha. His costume is totally 90's superhero-ish. Looking forward to more lulz from this ungodly show.

  20. @YeamieWaffles Glad you like it! I bought the tapes in a second hand store! (It must have been faith! Cause if I hadn't seen them that day I'd never have known about them! Heck you can't even find most of the videos on the internet!) And luckily for you the Fibler and Shadow of Doubt will be the first shown cause I'm reviewing them in order of there production!

@meandmythinkingcap I'd say that to my girlfriend of almost eight years but she already knows that!

@Jax Glad to hear you'll be watching through out the week! I hope you enjoy!

@The Angry Lurker Biblewoman would probably be too uptight for most men.

@A Beer for the Shower I wish eight was enough but I think he made more then eight bibleman shows! (get it? Willie Aames was in Eight is Enough!)

@Lord Phrozen I agree! You'd think he'd tote the crusifics everywhere!

@JOutlaw Oh you'll get a lot of both!

@Mark I'm not doing a video review for any of them, I can't even get good picks for some of them. I can't transfer tapes to digital media and I can't find almost any of the episodes on the internet!

@Roger T. Thomas Thats a shame! Your idea is fantastic! You need to go look for backers!

@Jessica Jenkins I think Biblewoman would were more clothes if she wasn't the slave to Jaba the Glut! (though he likes excess hes a minimalist when it comes to womans clothes!)

@Film Geek Bastard Oh I'm sure one day they will!

@Anne I have no clue who made this beyond it was made in America!... oh Americans! Now you know my real name?!?!?!? My real name appears at the end of all my videos in the copyright section, I mentioned myself by name in my Mesa of Lost Woman Review and the Captain America Serial Review and I've signed my name to other cartoons I've posted before!

@YeamieWaffles Sure I'd love to be featured! Sounds awesome! Do you want me to make anything for friday?

@Mich Sounds like quite the plan!

@Pat Hatt Yeah the Fibbler looks like quite the villinous bastard! I'd crap my pants if I saw him!

@Zap McBlowfist Yeah I swoon too! Its soooo great!

    @My 2 Pesos Right on!

@Adam It is a trip... but what kind of trip I don't know!

@Sub-Radar-Mike Yep I can draw, glad you liked it! I'm glad to hear you hear my voice when you read! Now I feel like I've entered your head!

@D4 Glad to hear it! I hope I (and Bibleman) wont disapoint!

  21. @MRanthrope Yeah his costume is totally 90's! It reminded me of the Justice League of America video review I did!

  22. I don't think so man. I don't plan on doing it until next Friday anyway because it's my birthday on the Thursday and I'm not sure if I'm going to be in much of a state for concentrated blogging during the day haha!

  23. Bibleman! with the power to convert!

    ReplyDelete
  24. How did I miss that? Jesus, I'm slipping? I'm about to send you an e-mail to test out that address you gave me, so look for it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @YeamieWaffles Sounds good! How old will you be?

    @Imaoitsjesus Right on!

    @Anne I await your message!...

  26. Hey, purple and yellow were the colors of my Christian elementary school!

  27. I remember once being drunk at a friend's parents' house and seeing all these tapes on their shelf. We proceeded to watch several episodes. Drink every time Bibleman quotes the bible. Drink every time they talk about god. Proceed to vomit because those rules in Bibleman are similar to the big lebowski drinking game: they're gonna do it all the time

    ReplyDelete
  28. What the what? I just don't know what to think of this.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Fitizen Right on!

    @Henry That's quite a coincedence! (or maybe a conspericy!)

    @choms Glad you enjoyed it!

@Generally Disgruntled Woaw! As soon as you said drink every time they quote the bible I instantly got drunk and almost throw up! No way should anyone try that! He some times does three quotes in a minute! You'd be dead before you hit the floor!

@convictus Well you have a whole week to decide! (Still can't access your blog, will be changing my web browser soon so hopefully that will help!)

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Dreadnaught Glad you enjoy its homour!

  31. Oh God (the irony), *facepalm* because nothing says Christianity like Batman's teenage mutant ninja coloured cousin.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is great, but it looks terrible lol.

"don't worry, hes not like a priest or anything" Laughed when I read this, awesome. Can't wait to read the reviews. Keep it up!

  33. Haha that superhero is awesome

  34. OHHHHHHHHHH SHIIIIIT SON!

They used to play this bastard on PBS back in So Cali in the nineties or some shit. Seriously, watched it right after Ghost Writer...and I freakin' LOVED Ghost Writer.

Bibleman was mostly for me and my friends to laugh at. What's worse? None of us did drugs and still we don't do 'em.

Every time I go slumming at a thrift store, I swear to christ I always see these videos. Now all I need is a friggin' VHS player and it's time to go slippin' down nostalgia lane~!

  35. This is hilarious! I wish more of us could be Shadows of Doubt though. :)

    Following.

  36. Ha looks like the show could be some laughs. Gonna try and find some episodes online later.

  38. Please tell me you are putting this over on atheist reddit! The Shadow of Doubt (makes kids doubt the bible and think critically... the bastard!) - my fav!

    ReplyDelete
  39. He is totally a priest. Who else would spend that much time hunting after children from the distance?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Only religion could discourage critical thinking and independent thought. Damn the Shadow Of Doubt!

    ReplyDelete
  41. oh god this looks so bad that i have to see it :D

    ReplyDelete
  42. You forgot the Holy Spirit! That's 4 people looking out for me!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wait, what? Bibleman? I really don't know what to say, on one hand this is incredibly cheesy on the other this could qualify as fucking awesome.

Also, how the hell does your VHS still work?!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Looks like it could be pretty good. Thanks!
