How I Met Your Mother Video Review

Here's my video review of the TV show How I Met Your Mother.

When I put my Beverly Hillbillies review on YouTube yesterday I was disappointed that the only three screen shots I could choose from as the thumb nail picture were all shots from the show and none were of me! My ego was angered! Then today I had to laugh, not only were the three screen shots today from the episode and not of me but they were all shots of the kids sitting on the couch! Oh YouTube!

As always please comment favorite and thumb up my videos and help me get them out there! Thanks for your time!

  9. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE mode engaged. I absolutely love this show. The series that is currently on WAS due to be it's last but they then commissioned another one. One of the points of the show is that all the teeny tiny details add up together, he's telling the story from the absolute beginning, it's just that the beginning seems to have been...well, the beginning. I also can't believe you didn't mention Barney.

  10. Hah. So true. I like the re-dub you do at the end, especially. Series finale right there.

  11. It's an alright show, I won't get all snooty and hate on it.
And oh yeah, the girls behind us at the game were annoying as hell, I'm considering writing a post on them.

  12. Rage? Are you raging about what I said in my review? I get that the show was suppost to be about the story around his meeting their mother. But based on the bits that he has said about meeting her (seeing her ankle and her being in the class and her having a yellow umbrella) he could have started the story that year not went back years earlier! I have the first season on DVD and I rewatched so many of them resently: They have no importance to their meeting the mother that if they are to count as important the years after their meeting their mother should as well! Which was my point in the video. I didn't talk about anything else (like Barney or How hot Lilly is) cause I wanted to keep the video quick and on that one point only.

  14. You know how it is, people rage when someone says something even slightly bad about the things they love. They don't have all that much to do with exactly how he met their mother (Lily was hotter ginger. Way hotter.) but...I don't actually know what to say. The rage has subsided, so all I can do is agree with you that some of the things might not seem to really have much to do with how he met their mother and that Lily is hot.

Especially before she dyed her hair.

  15. I believe if you edit it well enough you can decide what the screen shots are. I'f I'm not mistaken there's one at exactly one third into it, one at half way through, and another at two thirds into it.

So if it's a 3 minute vid, one screenshot at 1:00, another at 1:30 and the last one at 2:00. I could be wrong though, it's been a while since I've studied Youtube.

  16. I like how his future selfs voice is Bob Sagat.

  17. @Mark Being that easily to rage isn't normal (people say I'm easily raged and I think your raging was way off base!) But I don't mind it I just found it odd (cause I like the show and said nothing negitive!)
I liked Lilly best in the first season... of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! (I love plain girls!)
I too agree that it doesn't all deal with how he meets their mother and understand that it all can't cause of the nature of TV. But for me I'm just kinda mad cause I think the years after Ted meets his future wife can be real good! I see a potential for many great stories and funny situations! But I do fear what I said, that we'll meet the mother and then bam! The show is over!

@D4 I think that use to be the way they did it but its not now. Instead their just random now!

  18. Not sure how I feel about this, personally.

  19. @A yup it's certinly a debate for the ages!

  20. I don't think I was as angry as I made out to be. I think that they will end the show when he meets their mother, but I do agree there is potential for them to have some crazy adventures even after. Like Barney trying to deal with Ted settling down. I'd like to see them at least go on until Ted and the mother get married. We're just to assume that after all the crazy shit that's happened to Ted that as soon as he met her it was just all perfect from then? Nah. Regardless of the content, there is a lot of depth to it still, even though all the episodes can at times seem random, they reference old episodes very well, I don't think there's any plot holes at all, and if they are, I rest comfortably knowing they will more than likely be dealt with in a future episode.

  21. lol yeah that is a good idea. i mite just be able to pull it off, studying my ass off tonite for two tests tomorow. and guess what i actually saw on tv the other nite, that thundarr the barbarian show. what a rip off of heman lol

  22. @Mark As I think about it it will all become a moot point if the show stays popular for a lot longer! The story is told in the year 2030 to kids who seem to be 14-16 years of age! So they must be conceived in 2014-2016! Which means hes gotta meet her soon and knock her up! (He doesn't need to marry her though: they might just be bastards!)

    ReplyDelete
  23. I've actually thought about that a lot myself, that he needs to hurry up and marry her soon. The kids seem to be teenagers, like you say, so the show seems to have at most, 3-5 years left as they keep it in the year they made it. Or seem to, one season started just after the other ended at one point, but I can't remember if that was seen as a flashback and it was set a year later. Then again the entire show is technically a flashback. It's also nice to hear someone use the term bastard correctly!

  24. I never cared for that show...still don't!

  25. Lol nice review. For the show it's ok imo, nothing more nothing less.

  26. Ive never actually watched this show

    ReplyDelete
  27. Never watched this show, may have to give it a look.

    ReplyDelete
  28. never watched, but I want to like it because of NPH. Just can't find the urge to watch or care about it. You're going to have to review individual tv episodes at some point there aren't all that many tv shows for you to just do 2mins of here is the entire 7 year series goodbye.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Explain to me what this means.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @convictus I do review single episodes they just take longer to do so I fill up the other days with shorter reviews!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hahaha, "unlike that show..." you hit it spot on. I never liked the title of this show nor the cover arc. This should just be about the friends.

    ReplyDelete
  32. "Now let me tell you about the night you were conceived..." hah.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have mixed feelings about this show. But I still watch it because I've seen every Two and a Half Men episode.

  34. i have a confession to make. I used to really disdain this show, then it started being on tv during those down times when nothing good is on. And me, being the perpetual homebody, started watching it. Then I started enjoying it. AM i going to die?

    ReplyDelete
  35. i want to see that wonderful show :D

    ReplyDelete
  36. I haven't seen the show, but I've bet Snape and Harry potter know about the show

    ReplyDelete
  37. Once again, a show I've never watched. The review makes it sounds like it just drags on and on. I'm guessing it originally had a proper ending however they wanted to make it longer and longer, cash cow!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've never seen the show, but isn't NPH the main star? Shouldn't the show have been called "How I Uuted Myself to Your Mother?"

    ReplyDelete
  39. saw it on some local channel that is hosted by a radio host that just puts on any cartoon he feels like

    ReplyDelete
  40. an old co-worker swore by this show. Since I don't really watch TV anymore I just kind of said "eh." I finally caught an episode and remembered his glowing praise for the show, I sat down and actually enjoyed it! Still don't really watch much TV these days but can honestly say this show is ok with me.

  41. Huh, every day, every night

  42. I never watched that show, but I loved your dubbing at the end. :D

  43. i really like this show, i even have all 6 seasons on my hardrive :D seen them all though

    ReplyDelete
  44. I feel good about never having seen that show. Very good.

    ReplyDelete
  45. i actually like this show but i never have time to watch it sadly

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lmao love that show, and the Bro Code...haha good post.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I haven't seen the show yet but from your reaction, I can guess that the show detracts from the main issue and got too much filler.
